Changing lives is Gospel music's forte'.  Gospel radio has acknowledged the powerful impact that the music programmed  for the dedicated listener has made on American music lovers, bringing Gospel fans nearer to the hearth or the altar without requesting that they set foot in the chapel.  While Gospel radio continues to reach it's audience with change in the way of a music alternative,  the industry hardly attemps to persuade it's listeners or fans of other music categories, to change the station.  Radio stations are monitored by ratings companies that calculate the stations position in the industry by determining it's place in the local market.  While companies such as Wimmer Research provide monthly results of radio station market position, offer inforamtion that informs the general public about the leading markets.  According recent report, New York radio stations lead the market earning $15.6M and is followed by Los Angeles at 10.9 M, Chicago at $7.8M and San Francisco bringing in $6.1M with Houston and San Antonio, Texas trailing at 6th and 31st place, respectively earning $4.8 and $1.6 million dollars.

Radio companies are accustomed to the high fllying air keeping a foothold in the industry. but what's the impression from the other side of the mic?  It seems that church leaders are fans of Gospel radio for many reasons.  In the routine programming and operation of C&G radio, church administrators are provided a vectar for conducting a generous variety of religious services, coutesy of the local Gospel radio station.

Often churches request air time for the re-broadcast of the previous week's sermon.  Radio air time is put to use for airing Christian talk, news shows and interviews with church celebrities.  After church, however, the men and women of Holy annointing tune in to thier favorite Gospel radio music station to listen as the music maintains it's effectivness for expeling a portion of God's power through the airwaves.

As we the  fans of vintage artistry, listen and enjoy Gospel music we can expect Gospel radio to creshendo and decreshendo as our favorite music conductor keeps pace with the urban gosple music and other contemporary radio air waves.
